Ross Tamlin

Ross Tamlin was born in 1958 and educated in New Zealand, he emigrated to Australia in 1982.

Determined to become a full time artist he gained a Fine Arts and Graphic Arts Certificate in Brisbane. During this formative art period Ross supported his art practice working as a laboratory paint colour chemist from 1988 to 1997.  All of these disciplines are reflected into his carefully crafted paintings. For the most part, his works feature multiple paint layers which are meticulously burnished to achieve a rich patina. 

In 2002 his work was selected to hang in ‘Australia, The Awakening' exhibition at the Australian High Commission in London. In 2006 he was a selected finalist in the $150,000 Signature of Sydney art prize.  His entry, conceded by a number of fellow artists to be the true ‘painting' winner.
Ross’s work is held in Private and Corporate collections around the world.
